昨日までの27,28日の二日間を使って東京に行っておりました。
丁度 TOKYO DESIGN WEEK 2015 も開催されており、
街の至る所でデザイナーのアートワークが見れました。
Hello.
I had a day off for 2days, 27th and 28th.
I visited to Tokyo.
Now it held "TOKYO DESIGN WEEK 2015", so I enjoyed seeing
lots of art works at there.
東京ミッドタウンのガーデングラスで展示されている
隈研吾による「つみきのひろば」
"TSUMIKI garden" designed by Kengo Kuma at Tokyo midtown.
こちらも東京ミッドタウン内にありました。

この弾丸旅の中で、自分が気になっているお店やカフェを沢山巡りましたが、
C & MILLSとしてはお世話になっているデザイナーさんにお会いしたり、
新しいプロダクトを見せてもらったりとちゃんとお仕事もしてました。(笑)
そういったものも近日中にお披露目できればいいな〜と思います。
In this short trip, I went to a lot of places, cafe and shops, but on the other hand,
I did work for my shop, C & MILLS and met designers and new products.
I'd love to show you these works soon.
その中でも、C & MILLSでも取り扱っているオランダのテキスタイルブランド、
Studio Mae Engelgeerのデザイナーである Mae Engelgeerと
スタイリストのAnna Sokolowskaに会えたのは本当に嬉しかったです。
Especially, it was lovely to see Mae Engelgeer who is a designer of Studio Mae Engelgeer and a stylist, Anna Sokolowska.
I was soooo happy to see them!!
東京ミッドタウン内にある「とらや」のカフェの前で待ち合わせ。
実は私たちは初対面でした。
一度も直接会ったことはなく、いつもSNSやメールでのやり取りばかり。
そんな中、場所がわかるかな？とか、メールちゃんと見てるかな？とか
待ってる間なかなか不安でしたが、無事初対面を果たせました！！
We met at a cafe of "TORAYA" in Tokyo midtown.
Actually, we've never met before, so it was first time to see each other!
I was quite worried about if they found this address and if they checked my email, etc...
I was released when we could see each other finally!

初来日であったため、京都にも足を運んでしっかりと観光を済ませていたお二人の
デザイナー、スタイリストの視点から見る日本の文化に対する感想を聞くのも本当に面白かったです。
想像通りの素敵な方々で、終始おしゃべり。お喋りが止まらず、メニューを注文するまでにかなり時間がかかりました。笑
とらやのカフェでは、二人の人生初となる「お茶菓子」をいただきました。
まあ、これは日本人以外には羊羹の甘さとかを理解するのは難しかったようで。笑
お茶の後は、ミッドタウン内にあるショップを回ったりしました。
It was first time to visit JAPAN for them, but they said they enjoyed sightseeing in Kyoto as well. And it was very interesting to hear about what they think and feel toward Japanese culture.
At TORAYA cafe, we ate sweets for Japanese green tea.
I think it's quite hard to understand Japanese sweets for foreigners like sweet beans, AZUKI.
After that, we roam around shops in Tokyo midtown.
とらやのショップにて何かしらのインスピレーションを受けてる二人。
It seems they got inspiration from Japanese stuff at TORAYA shop.
二人を待っている間、とらやの目の前にある中川政七商店の
郷土玩具のガチャポンで遊んでたのですが、
二人もやりたい！といことで一緒にやりました。
While I waited for them, I played this GATYA-PON.
And they tried, too!!
それぞれ子供さんがいるお二人が、お土産にとガチャポンを。
でもこれ、何が入ってるのか分からないので、
アムステルダムに戻って、子供さんたちが開けるまで待たないといけないので
「気になる！」と興味津々な二人。
They have children, so they did that for their children as souvenir. But they can't open until children open. They were curious about inside, because we don't know what's inside!
スタイリストであるAnnaは期間限定でオープンしていたシャネルの
ヴィンテージショップに終始興奮しまくり。
そんなこんなであっという間に数時間が過ぎ去り、
私も他に予定があったので、ここでお別れ。
また日本かオランダかで絶対に会おう！と約束をしてバイバイ。

Time's fly. The time pasts quickly!!
I had another appointment, so I had to say good bye to them. That was so shame.
Hopefully we can meet at Japan again or Netherland!!

日本とオランダ、場所は離れているけど
距離なんて関係なく繋がっていけるのは本当に素晴らしいと思いました。
彼女たちの新しいプロダクトや活動を楽しみにしつつ、
私も、より作り手の思いなどをしっかり伝えられるよう、
そしてもっともっと良いお店にしていこうと強く思いました。
It is very long distance between Japan and Netherland, but we can meet like this!
Distance is not so problem for us.
I'm looking forward their new products and new works.
And I thought that I want to introduce designers spirits to customers more and more!
ということで、本日より通常営業再開でございます！
そして来週11/3(火) は門司ブリックホールにて「港街フィーカ」開催です！
皆様のお越しを心よりお待ちしております！
So,,, we are open as usual from today!!
And come and see us in MOJI Brick Hall for "MINATOMACHI Fiika" in 3rd November!!
